The Griffin Project is a group of four young musicians — Marina Mihaylova (tenor saxophone), Hongshin Cho (drums), Andrei Manzat (piano) and Joost van der Bijl (bass), Exploring the jazz traditions of the 1950s and 60s. The project is dedicated to Johnny Griffin, the all-time great saxophone player who has been a source of inspiration for generations of jazz musicians and was widely recognized as one of the most influential figures of the hard bop era.
